Summer Swimming Lesson Information

Swimming Lessons in CarmichaelLet’s swim!  Group swim lessons for children, ages 3 and older, require the skill and maturity to listen and follow directions.  All children signed up for swim instruction will be evaluated the first week of lessons to determine the appropriate group for instruction.  The Red Cross Swim Instructor has a Water Safety Instructor Permit.  If your child is taking swim lessons this summer, please bring their bathing suit and towel in a nylon duffel, rubberized, or hard plastic bag, marked with the child’s name on each item.  Please do not send a soft plastic bag that a child could put over his/her head and possibly suffocate.

Bathing suits and towels must go home each day.  If your child has earplugs please make sure they are in a marked container and included in their swim bag. Also, if your child’s clothing is not marked with their name, and we notice it, we will mark their name on any item not marked.  Be sure to mark socks, shoes, and underwear.  You can generally buy laundry markers (popular brand “Rub-A-Dub”) at a large grocery store.  Students will find their unmarked clothes in a bin by the swimming pool.  Each year we have a large collection of unclaimed items. Be sure to mark each item so yours will not end up there as well.  All three-year-olds are required to wear swim diapers under their swimming suit that the parent provides.  If a child does not have them, he/she will not be able to swim that day.

Swim fees are payable in advance, prior to the week’s beginning.  If included along with your tuition payment, please indicate on the check, “swim lessons,” and how much is designated for
swimming. We discourage weekly payments, as your child’s name needs to be re-added to the swim schedule weekly, leaving a margin for error.  A written one-week notice is required for a
change in swimming lesson schedule.  No refunds or swim credits are given for any reason, including change of schedule, illness, absences, inclement weather (“dry” lessons on safety, etc. will be given), field trips, etc.
